Reducing Expenses...

I sent some information to clients yesterday that I thought would be helpful for all my contacts to see. As we are all feeling the pinch in one way or another, these are a few ideas to spur some thoughts on ways
to reduce expenses at this time. Some of this may not apply to everyone, but if there is something that triggers a thought or two please give me a call and we can discuss it. I would like to help if
possible.

1. Review of life insurance - Do you have excess cash value and could purchase a 'paid up policy' and either lower or remove the need to pay a premium? Do you have a more expensive permanent policy insuring against a temporary need (therefore, consider a cheaper Term Policy)?

2. Mortgage - Can you refinance your mortgage via another mortgage to reduce your interest rate and payments? Is your HELOC rate the lowest available?

3. Credit Card debt - Are you carrying credit card debt, while you have cash or other liquid investments that could pay it off?

4. Student Loans - Can you refinance at a lower rate? (Mostly for the younger crowd...)

5. Car Insurance - Have you shopped your coverage and rate recently?

6. Deductibles - Are you carrying too low a deductible on your insurance policies?

7. Umbrella Policy - Can you bundle your Umbrella Policy with other insurance to lower the total premium?

8. Money going towards retirement - Are you funding an IRA when you should be funding your 401K to maximize your company match?

9. Do you still need a land line versus using cell phones?

10. Reduce your cable bill - Have you told your cable company that you are considering changing to another vendor?

We don't provide service in all these areas, but I do have a relationships I trust and if you would like I would be happy to have them reach out to you. I would enjoy speaking with you or your colleagues, friends, neighbors, and family about any of these issues as well. If they are important to you they would be important to me.  Please don't hesitate to call.

Best Regards,
Nate
